Since there was no 15 cent coin, 1953 introduced the first subway token. This commuter, Toni Bocchino digs into her change-purse to pay for the two subway fare tokens she's getting from IRT conductor Eddie Cremmins. Bocchino got the tokens the minute they went on sale at Grand Central subway station in July 1953
