when you say Bud you’ve gone as far as you can go to get the
very best
when you say Bud you’ve said the word that means you’d like
to do it all
when you say Bud it means you want the beer that’s got the
taste that’s number one
when you say Bud you tell the world you know what makes it
all the way
when you say Bud you say you care enough to only one the
king of beer
there is no other one, there’s only second best
because the king of beers is beating all the rest
when you say Budweiser you’ve said it all.
On 15 August 1971, President Nixon imposed an anti-inflation 90-day wage-price freeze which was followed by various phases of wage-price controls until 1974. This radio ad for Chrysler-Plymouth from 11 October 1971, refers to the freeze as an enticement to buy a car.

Steve Karmen was born in the Bronx-N.Y. on 31 January 1937. His father was from Russia. Karmen grew up with Bobby Darin and played saxophone and guitar with him in a band in the 1950s. They met while they were at the Bronx High School of Science.
Karmen went on to write some of the best commercial jingles in America. Unlike other composers, who were paid a flat price for their jingles, Steve was the only one of his peers to receive royalties every time one of his jingles was performed on TV or Radio.
In a few years in the early 1970s Karmen ended up writing 3 of the best jingles ever that became instant hits on the air-waves of the nation: 'Chrysler Plymouth comin' thru' and Budweiser Beer's 'When you Budweiser, you've said it all' and in 973, Steve came up with another pearl: Wrigley Spearmint Gum 'Carry the big fresh flavor'.
