Jon K. Hannesson wrote at FB on 13 December 2025: It was the western Terminus of the CNJ Newark and New York Branch that ran from Jersey City to Newark. It also served some trains from the Jersey shore. A boat hit the bridge over the Hackensack River in 1946, which ended direct service to Jersey city. From that point until the end of service in 1967, you needed to change trains in Elizabethport to go to Jersey City.

George King wrote: CNJ (Central Railroad of New Jersey) had 3 tracks coming out the rear of the building that crossed over the PRR and I remember a big bridge that crossed Ferry Street

James Reese asked: Where was this place?  All I remember is Penn Station.
Craig Harrison replied: It was on Broad Street next to 838 Broad Street, between Edison Place & Lafayette Street.

It looks like it crossed over the Hackensack River, to Jersey City and into Manhattan. I see how that worked since some tracks are used for different purposes now.
